Paddy Doherty says Glenfin’s determination not to leave Letterkenny empty handed got them over the line against Milford in the Intermediate B final at O’Donnell Park.
The teams were level five times in all during the first half, but Glenfin pulled away in the second half to claim the win for their first title in 16 years.
“It’s been a long time,” Doherty said.
“We’re back in Intermediate this year and we had set out sights on the A and B titles, but we’ll settle for the B title.
“We had a few harsh words. We didn’t want to go into an empty dressing room. We stepped it up and I think we deserved it.
“It means a lot. We needed silverware to keep the spirits up in the club and it’s great to take this back.”
