The Donegal Road Safety Working Group will be looking to make an important impact on young drivers at this year’s Road Safe Road Show.
Students from Donegal’s twenty-seven post-primary schools and six Youthreach centres will be attending powerful and hard-hitting demonstrations that are designed to leave a lasting impression as they begin driving.
The 2017 Road Show takes place in the Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny on 10th and 11th October 2017.
The show features a series of presentations from representatives of the local Emergency Services, a Doctor based within the A & E Department in Letterkenny University Hospital.
A young man who was involved in a horrific traffic collision some years ago will also be participating to tell his own story.
The audience will hear real-life shocking accounts to influence them to adopt a more responsible attitude in terms of their own driving behaviour.
The consequences, should they fail to do so, will be clearly and graphically demonstrated by depicting how a night out ends in tragedy and a permanent disability for one young driver.
It is hoped that the event will leave a lasting positive impression on the young people present.
