This weekend will see two days of football action taking place in Letterkenny in aid of the Irish Red Cross Donegal Flood Appeal.
The tournament will be held over the weekend of the 7th & 8th at the Letterkenny Community Centre astro pitch.
Teams will only need to be there for a maximum of one hour on each day while they play their matches and then they will be free to leave or stay and enjoy watching the rest of the matches.
The top two teams in each group will return to play the knockout stages the following day on Sunday 8th October.
The event is being organised by GiveTru, a non-profit, independent community group set up to empower people to help each other help others. Moving on from the success of GiveTru’s Beach Workout in Aid of Pieta House last month, the group are inviting teams to sign up for this tournament for a great local cause.
All proceeds from this week’s tournament will go towards the victims of the recent Donegal flooding which is supported by the Irish Red Cross. “Many families and businesses have been affected by the flooding and we believe it is important that we as a community do our part,” said GiveTru organisers Sean Forester and Kevin McFadden.
Each team must register for the 5-a-side beforehand and the donation is 50 euro per team to play in the tournament.
*Special Discount rate of €40 per team for LYIT students – message us to avail of the discount*
Tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/2yJdCq8 which also includes a 3 euro charge for processing online, or the money can be paid in cash at the community centre.
