A Co Donegal man is hoping a heartfelt campaign can help him lift his beautiful daughter in his arms once again.
Lee McKinney’s life took a sudden change earlier this year when he was diagnosed with cancer in his arm.
The outlook for the 29-year-old who lives on the outskirts of Letterkenny was not good.
Surgeons had no option but to amputate his arm just below his shoulder to prevent the disease from spreading.
The operation was successful and Lee is attempting to lead a full life with his devoted wife and little daughter.
Lee insists that his should not be a sad story insisting “My life isn’t over, it’s just taken a turn in a different direction.”
His sister Samantha insists this is typical of Lee’s attitude, always seeing the best in every situation.
“His attitude and determination as he learns to live his life in a different way has been an inspiration to us all.”
Now, in a bid to help Lee get back on track, his family and friends have launched a campaign to get him a prosthetic arm.
Such opportunities do not come cheap and prosthetic arms cost between €15,000 and €100,000.
Last night his family started a Go Fund Me page in a bid to raise the money needed so Lee can lift his little daughter into his arms once again.
Lee is one of our own and if you can spare a couple of euro, it will ALL go a long way towards helping this family along the way.
