David Curley got up for a rare goal today as Milford got past Aodh Ruadh and into the Donegal IFC final.
Milford – pictured by Joe Boland, North West News Pix – have been carrying a mountain of hurt on their backs following a final replay loss to Burt last year.
But they eked their way to a narrow win over Aodh Ruadh in today’s semi-final.
“Every day we go onto the field in the Championship, those two games against Burt are in the back of our minds and we want to put that right,” Curley said.
“The had a free at the end and it was heart-in-mouth stuff. Nothing is won yet but hopefully we can finish the job now.,
“We’ve been targeting Championship all year. We’re back where we want to be now.”
After David McGurrin netted for Aodh Ruadh with only 13 seconds gone in the second half, Curley’s goal was just the tonic Milford needed.
He said: “I don’t score too many. I didn’t have time to think too much about it. ‘Chippy’ did the hard work for me and put it on a plate.”
