Tyler Toland and Amy Boyle-Carr featured prominently as the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-17s started their UEFA European Championship Qualifying Round group with a win over host nation Bosnia and Herzegovina today.
Toland – just five days after making her Irish senior debut – and Boyle-Carr started for Colin Bell’s team in a 1-0 win.

Toland played the full game while Boyle-Carr was only withdrawn in added time at the end of the game.
A late goal by Chelsea’s Megan Mackey, heading home with three minutes to go, gave Ireland the win at the BH Football Centre.
“We’ve got a few things we need to work on in training and keep improving,” Bell said.
“The players showed great character to get the result and we’ll need that in the next two games if we’re going to finish top of the group.
“It’s great to start with a win as we’ve got two other big games coming up and this should give the team plenty of confidence going into those games.”
