Tyler Toland and Amy Boyle-Carr are off to Sarajevo this weekend as the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-17s begin their UEFA European Championship Qualifying Round games on Sunday.
Ireland, managed by Colin Bell, face hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday at the BH Football Centre, in the first of three games.
Toland this week made history when the St Johnston woman, who just turned 16 last month, made her Irish senior debut in the 2-0 win over Northern Ireland at Mourneview Park.
Bell also manages the Irish seniors and gave the Maiden City midfielder her senior bow.
Sion Swifts’ Boyle-Carr is also part of the U17 panel for the Bosnia trip.
Drawn into Group 4 alongside hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Greece, the Irish team have high hopes of making it all the way to the finals tournament in Lithuania next summer.
Next Wednesday, they face Romania before taking on Greece on Saturday-week.
