The very demeanour of Finn Harps assistant manager Paul Hegarty was that of sheer frustration, but the Finn Park no.2 insisted they can still survive in the top flight.

“It’s hard to take and it’s difficult for the players to take,” Hegarty said.
“Their work-rate was excellent. We had them really pushed back. Nothing really broke for us tonight. Nothing seemed to fall to a blue shirt.”
Hegarty acknowledged that Harps ‘didn’t create enough clear-cut chances’ and defeat means Harps will likely need a version of the Great Escape.
Hegarty, though, added: “There will be twists and turns yet and there are 15 points still to play for.
“The margins are so tight. The break of a ball is the difference. It will be difficult, but we believe we have enough in that dressing room to see us through.”
