The McDonald’s Scholarship Programme, that has been running since 2001, is an initiative which celebrates the hard work and dedication of McDonald’s employees, who are completing college and further education studies.
The 2017 Scholarship theme was ‘What can McDonald’s do to improve our delivery of a world class customer experience.’
Each winning employee receives €1,000 towards their education costs. Winners in the past have used the scholarship to cover course fees, travel costs, text books and supplies to aid study such as laptops.
The awards were presented Marty Morrissey at an event in Dublin’s Croke Park on 14th September.
Speaking at the awards, Marty Morrissey, commented: “I’m delighted to be here to help McDonald’s acknowledge all the hard work their employees do. It is great to see a company encouraging their staff’s ongoing training and education as McDonald’s does. I wish McDonald’s and its employees continued success, I love popping in to my local McDonald’s in Ennis.”
Amir Afsar, Franchisee, McDonald’s Ireland added: “McDonald’s is proud to offer jobs that fit around our employees. These opportunities, along with industry training and qualifications, help to take people further in their career with McDonald’s or beyond. You don’t need a degree to work at McDonald’s but you can earn one while you work with us.”
