Daniel and Majella O’Donnell have shared the happy news that they will be welcoming a new grandchild to their family in the New Year.
The Donegal singing star has revealed that Majella’s daughter Siobhan and her husband Gavin Shields are expecting a baby in January. The young couple already have a little girl, Olivia, who is two years old and is the apple of her grandparent’s eyes.
Now Daniel and Majella are going to have another young fan to sing to!
Daniel told the good news to his fans in a blog post summing up highlights from the summer.
“I will finish off by telling you the best piece of news of all is that Majella and I are going to be grandparents again, Olivia God willing, will have a little brother or sister in mid-January” he said.
Daniel is currently on tour in Canada after a busy few weeks touring Ireland. He was also a star guest on the line-up for the Flood Aid for Inishowen concert in Letterkenny at the beginning of September.
Daniel and Majella will be seeing a lot of big changes in their lives in the coming months, as their home in Donegal is set to get a major revamp on RTE’s Room to Improve.
To make room, they have planned to auction off items from their home to raise money for Majella’s mental health charity Donegal Mind Wellness.
The celebrity couple’s home will be getting a €200,000 makeover by architect Dermot Bannon – so hopefully it’s all done in time to make room for visits from their growing family.
Daniel will have a busy few months of touring Canada and the UK before taking time off at Christmas for some special family time.
