People across Donegal and beyond are looking to start a new career with courses at Sports Fitness Academy.
The Stranorlar-based private training organisation held a successful open day on August 24th with many people checking out the available courses to further their careers.
A wide range of sport and fitness related accredited courses are available at Sports Fitness Academy. They have introduced four exciting new courses, with spaces remaining on two programmes beginning in September and October.
Donegal Daily found out what is involved for students as they achieve qualifications at this unique career-focused centre:
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction – Gym based
Starting Monday, 18th September
This Level 2 Gym Instructors Certification is the industry’s most popular entry-level fitness instruction qualification and is ideally suited to those with a passion for health and fitness.
You will learn all the essential knowledge and skills to enable you to confidently plan, instruct and evaluate successful one-to-one gym programmes. If you would like to start a career within this industry, this is the course for you.
It will provide you with the stepping stones to achieving a Personal Trainer Certificate as it provides the underpinning knowledge and skills in preparation for this future career. It also provides the first step to progress and complete other CPD courses such as Circuit training, Kettlebells or Indoor Studio Cycling.
Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy
Starting Saturday 7th October
Within this qualification you will learn the skills and knowledge required to plan, provide and evaluate sports massage treatments for both sporting and non-sporting clients.
You will learn to treat individuals suffering from a wide range of conditions, such as muscle fatigue, lumbago/non-specific low back pain, and repetitive strain/overuse, non-acute type injuries.
