Plans have emerged for the popular Supermac’s fast food chain coming to Donegal Town in 2018.
The famous Irish restaurant has over 100 chains across the country, but this will be the first time a franchise has come to Donegal.
Fans of the traditional burgers and delicious fries will soon be able to stop off for meals at a multi-story station in Drumlonagher, near the main Donegal to Ballybofey road.
The restaurant will have a drive-thru facility, ground and first floor seating areas and will be adjoined to a filling service station.
The development is expected to bring 60 full-time and part-time jobs to the area.
The restaurant is set to have an opening date in July 2018, as construction works are due to begin in January, according to Mount Charles architects William Donoghue & Associates.
The application for planning permission on behalf of Koley Ltd was made to Donegal County Council in May 2017.
The application shows plans for the construction of a 950sq metre two storey filling service station, 85m2 retail shop and two-storey restaurant with food preparation areas.
Plans also show a Papa John’s and SuperSub counter in the Supermac’s restaurant.
The application has been granted under certain conditions to Koley Ltd., which has a registered address in Ballina, Co. Mayo.
The development will have 71 car parking spaces, two HGV spaces and stands for 10 bicycles. It will be located beside the Donegal Public Services Centre.
