Popular travel site Rough Guide has revealed that Ireland is amongst the top 20 most beautiful countries in the world.
Ireland ranked alongside countries such as Peru, South Africa, New Zealand, and Slovenia.
They say; “Among the romantic preconceptions visitors bring to Ireland, it is their expectations of the landscape that are most likely to be fulfilled.”
Ireland has been represented very well in tourism surveys conducted this year, as a few weeks ago the Wild Atlantic Way was ranked one of the most scenic roads in the Lonely Planet’s guide to the top fifty drives in the world.
Our neighbours Scotland were awarded the top spot, with Rough Guide saying “Who can deny that these wild beaches, deep lochs and craggy castles are some of the most wonderful and beautiful sights in the world?”
