It has been revealed that a Letterkenny farmer and his handsome woolly friend will join the first Late Late Show line-up of the season.
Seamus Brown and his star lamb will meet Ryan Tubridy tonight after they made the headlines this summer for the purchase of Ireland’s most expensive lamb.
Seamus bought a pedigree Suffolk ram lamb at Ballymena mart in August for more than £13,000 (€15,000).
This was a record price for the Ballymena Livestock annual Premier Suffolk Show and Sale, but Seamus was delighted with his purchase.
Now, the pair will be in the spotlight on RTE One tonight and meet Ryan Tubridy on the famous chat show.
It’s only right that the lamb becomes a screen star since his high price tag was all down to his good looks!
Mr Brown told the BBC when he bought the lamb that he had all the best qualities: “This guy has it all – nice hair, good character, good top line, good colours, good mouth. I can’t find any faults with him.
“He has so much presence he makes a statement when he stands up there.”
Mr Brown had planned to use the lamb for breeding but it’s sure to be a natural during its stint on the small screen.
You’re not shearious?
Tubridy was a bit bemused to hear that there would be a lamb in the line-up.
“Most expensive lamb?” he exclaimed in a preview video yesterday, but accepted it as part of the usual eclectic line-up.
“You see, it is the Late Late Show, you’ll have Henry Shefflin and the most expensive lamb and the biggest pop band in Ireland at the moment, do I need to say anything else?”
The Late Late Show returns tonight at 9.35pm on RTE One. The guest list includes top band Picture This, hurling legend Henry Shefflin, outspoken obesity expert Dr. Eva Orsmond and more music from The Waterboys.
