The new Donegal Junior League season was officially launched last evening at the Diamond Park in Ballyare.
League officials, clubs, sponsors and the local media were present for the launch at Donegal League HQ.
The Donegal Junior League Vice Chairman, Nigel Ferry, acted as the MC for the event. He spoke about the importance of the League, in its 46th season, which now has 38 teams and 1,500 players.
This year, the League will have five divisions and several cup competitions – a huge undertaking for the organisers.
“It’s a shared operation. It’s ten or twelve people doing their job,” Mr Ferry said.
“There will be ups and downs. One thing about the Donegal League is that it is always competitive. I think that’s the beauty about it.”
Mr Ferry said the League has ‘big plans’ in place for its 50th anniversary and thanked the various sponsors who lend their support to the League on an annual basis.
