Could Rory Gallagher be about to join one of Donegal’s Ulster rivals?

There are reports today that Down are targeting Rory Gallagher to be a part of the Mourne management in 2018.

Gallagher resigned as Donegal manager earlier this month after three years in charge.

Today’s Irish News reports that Down have teased out both Gallagher and Paddy Tally to join Eamonn Burns and Cathal Murray.

Down reached the Ulster final this year, beating Armagh and Monaghan along the way, but lost to Tyrone in the decider.

Andy Watters reports that Down’s players have identified Gallagher as a possible target to join their ranks.

Gallagher is currently working with Castlerahan in Cavan for their championship campaign.
