Cockhill Celtic player-manager Gavin Cullen insists that complacency won’t be an issue as they head in search of an unprecedented sixth successive Ulster Senior League and League Cup double.
The new USL season starts on Sunday next with Cockhill hosting Swilly Rovers in the Donegal News Ulster Senior League Cup.
Cockhill have now won five doubles in a row, but were pushed right to the pins of their collar last season.
“It’s a clean slate, the new season starting. Everyone is aiming high at this stage,” said Cullen.
“Clubs and teams are starting fresh and everyone wants to aim high.
“The group we have had are fantastic and motivation is never a problem. They want to be successful and want to work hard. Complacency could be an issue, but it hasn’t been and I don’t expect it to be.”
Mark Coyle from Burt is one of Cullen’s new additions this season, although Gerry Gill has left for Greencastle. Coyle had been on the books of Finn Harps and was a member of the Donegal panel this year, too, while Malachy McDermott will return from injury.
