Forecasters have issued a nationwide thunder warning for this afternoon and evening.
The warning was issued this morning and will be in place from noon to midnight.
It details “widespread thundery activity expected this afternoon and evening”.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann have also issued a rainfall warning for counties Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan and across Connacht.
“Some very heavy or thundery downpours are likely at times on Tuesday, mainly in parts of Connacht and Ulster with local spot flooding,” the official website reads.
It is not the first time the national forecaster has issued a thunder warning. They last issued one just over a month ago, on July 18.
A Status Orange warning indicates weather conditions “which have the capacity to impact significantly on people.”
