Donegal Town Community Band is on their way to the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil.
While traveling to Ennis, they stopped off in Galway and performed for two hours on Shop street!
The performance was well received by a large number of tourists and locals in Galway this afternoon.
The busy band also played at the opening of the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships at the Lakeside Centre in Ballyshannon yesterday.
A spokesperson for the band has also thanked Karl Doherty for all of his hard work in the lead up to the Fleadh Cheoil.
“Donegal Town Community Band are very appreciative to Karl Doherty for all the hard work he has done with the band over the past few months; helping with new march routines and perfecting formations in preparations for the All-Ireland Fleadh in Ennis this weekend.
“Thanks so much Karl for your time, talents, energy, enthusiasm, good humour and patience. Looking forward to a great weekend in Clare!”
Two Cloughaneely bands are also making their way down south this weekend, with their senior band Buíon Cheoil Sinsear Chloich Cheann Fhaola and junior band Banna Cheoil Chloich Cheann Fhaola, set to compete in the marching band competitions.
Best of luck to all Donegal bands in Ennis this weekend.
