The funeral will take place today of Doris Russo, a much-admired lady who contributed much to the Inishowen community.
Doris, who was born in Illinois USA, lived in Clonmany for 20 years, where she renovated and opened the Glen House as a B&B in the 1990s.
Ms Russo developed an access route to the Glenevin waterfall behind Glen House and created a popular natural attraction that is enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
She passed away at Nazareth House, Fahan on August 12th. Removal will take place today (Monday) at 10.40am to St. Mary’s Church, Clonmany for Requiem Mass at 11am. Cremation will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3.15pm.
Ms Russo is celebrated at The Glenevin Waterfall Park with a special plaque and banner in her honour at the beginning and end of the walking trail.
Ms Russo sold the Glen House in 2004, which was bought by Martin and Sonia McGonigle, who run the B&B today.
Ms Russo leaves behind a lasting legacy at The Glenevin Waterfall Park and the wider community.
