The search operation for a missing diver who disappeared off the coast of Fanad Head resumed at first light early this morning.
Lough Swilly Life Boat, Portrush Life Boat, the Sligo-based Rescue 118 helicopter, and a number of local boats are searching the area for the diver.
The missing diver was reported to Malin Head Coast Guard at 4:30 pm after failing to resurface. A major search operation was immediately launched yesterday evening, but they had to stand down at around 10 pm due to lack of light.
The diver, believed to be Canadian, is understood to have been exploring shipwrecks 65 meters below along with other divers.
The search operation is concentrated 14 miles north of Malin Head.
We will bring you more as we have it.
