The Foyle Search and Rescue saved a man’s life in the early hours of this morning.
At 4:30am the PSNI notified the FSR’s Emergency Response Team’s pagers to notify them of reports of a person observed entering the water.
The ERT Mobile Unit and two boat crews were dispatched to the scene within minutes.
A spokesperson for the FSR says; “FSR Boat Crews on scene observed a male and commenced a rescue. The male was then transported to FSR Base at Prehen where FSR land crew transferred the male to a NIAS Ambulance.
“The male was taken to hospital, PSNI and NIFRS also attended the scene. All FSR Emergency and secondary response teams were then stood down.”
