Figures released by the CSO today have shown that residential property prices are on the up at a national level, having increased by 11.6%.
This compares with an increase of 11.1% in the year to May and an increase of 5.5% in the twelve months to June 2016.
In Dublin property prices have increased by 11.1% in the year to June, with houses increasing at 11.2% and apartments increasing by 10.6% in the same period.
The South Dublin region took the biggest jump in house price growth at 11.8%. On the other side of Dublin however saw the lowest growth, with Fingal’s house prices only rising 5.4%.
Excluding Dublin property prices for the rest of Ireland have increased 11.8%.
Despite upwards trends, the national index is 29% lower than its highest level in 2007, however since the trough in early 2013 prices have increased by 58.4%.
