Letterkenny University Hospital is one of the country’s most overcrowded hospitals this afternoon as 29 people are awaiting admission; 16 of whom are on trolleys, with 13 waiting in ward overflow areas.
Figures released by the INMO reveal that University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded in the country with 50 people waiting for a bed.
University Hospital Galway has 35 patients awaiting admission, with 30 patients waiting at University Hospital Waterford.
This makes Letterkenny University Hospital the fourth most overcrowded hospital nationally.
Across Ireland, 409 patients are waiting for a bed, 307 of whom are on trolleys.
