Donegal Town’s Chandpur restaurant has claimed one of the top spots in the Irish Independent’s pick of the top fifty world restaurants in Ireland.
Coming in at number two overall and in the Indian/Pakistani/Nepalese section, this is not the first time Chandpur has had the honour of being recognised for their incredible work.
Just last month, Chandpur were named the best Asian Restaurant in Ulster, and the Best Chef in Ulster award went to Chandpur Head Chef Rana at the Asian Food Awards!
Katy McGuinness, a restaurant critic and food writer for the Irish Independent and The Sunday Times, reveals that she was blown away by Chandpur’s delicious food and hospitable staff.
Katy says; “This multi-award-winning restaurant in Donegal Town is smart and stylish, with a reputation for friendly service and excellent food. The dishes using local fish come particularly recommended.”
Donegal got another mention in the article as well, with Lewis Cummings’ Kerala Kitchen receiving praise.
Kerala Kitchen began in 2009, with Lewis selling homemade south Indian food from a van in Donegal.
Lewis has since relocated to Dublin, and travels across Ireland to food festivals and lunchtime markets.
