The Connemara Mining Company plc has discovered gold in Donegal after drilling operations in the county.
The Irish zinc and gold explorer has announced plans to drill holes in Donegal later in 2017 to follow the high grade veins found in 2016.
Current prices of gold are over $1,200 an ounce.
Connemara is a pure explorer focused on zinc and gold in Ireland holding 35 prospecting licence. The company holds 11 licences with potential for gold in Donegal.
The company tapped into a revival of interest in gold recently and acquired 5 new licences in April 2015 in Inishowen where they found significant gold potential. Shares soared in 2016 on the discovery of gold at one of its licences in Co Donegal.
Connemara also holds licences to the west of the Dalradian Resources Curraghinalt deposit in the Stranorlar area.
