Donegal Under-21 hurling manager Tom Hennessy hailed his men after their third All-Ireland ‘C’ final win in a row.
A late rally saw Donegal go clear of Sligo for a 1-14 to 0-12 win at Markievicz Park to retain the Andrew O’Neill Cup. A first-half goal by Oisin Rooney was the big score in a game that was in the melting pot right down the home straight.

“A three-in-a-row at any grade is very hard to do,” Hennessy said.
“Some of those lads now have three All-Ireland medals and that can never be taken away from them. I’m very proud of them.
“We were always confident in our squad and the lads that came on made a huge difference. I’m delighted for them.”
Donegal subs Kevin Kealy (2) and Ben Doherty scored three points late in the game and made a telling impact.
Hennessy said: “I always preach that it isn’t a 15 or 20 man game. A couple of the guys who turned the game are just kids, only 18 years of age. They are a hugely talented bunch who love representing Donegal.”
