Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan described himself as ‘relieved’ after his side came from behind to beat Bohemians in Ballybofey last night.
Eddie Dsane and Sean Houston netted as Harps responded to Dinny Corcoran’s opening strike for Bohs.
Dsane, with a cracking volley in the 34th minute and Houston, with a tidy finish following a piece of magic by Paddy McCourt in the 58th minute, turned the tables to hand Harps’ survival hopes a fresh boost.
“Relieved, more than anything,” Horgan said.
“I thought we did well until we were 2-1 up but from there to the end, Bohs completely steamrolled us. We held on by the skin of our teeth, but I thought we were decent. We were hanging on and Bohs will be scratching their heads at how they didn’t get anything.
“When we had to do the tough stuff, winning our headers and that, we did.”
Dsane’s equaliser arrived just five minutes after Corcoran broke the deadlock at the other end. Dsane opened his own Harps account in last week’s 2-0 win at Drogheda with a free-kick and his strike here was every bit as impressive.
Horgan said: “You need to have a decent strike to beat Shane Supple. The timing of that goal was as important as its quality.”
