THE STATUS QUO of the Ulster Senior League will continue as the executive returned unopposed this evening at the AGM at the Mount Errigal in Letterkenny.
Therefore, the executive for the upcoming 2017/18 season will be the same as that that finished last term, a second in which Cockhill Celtic won both the 4 Lanterns Ulster Senior League and Donegal News League Cup, while Letterkenny Rovers took home the Knockalla Caravans Cup.
Chairman: Johnny McCafferty; Vice-Chairman: Patrick McLaughlin; Secretary: Niall Callaghan; Assistant Secretary: Mark Duffy; Treasurer: Donal Coyle; Registrar: Jason Gibson; PRO: Chris McNulty.
Over the course of the year, the income was €17,795, with expenses of €17,825.30, meaning a profit from the year ending June 30, 2017, was €79.90.
Treasurer Donal Coyle stressed that participation in the FAI Inter-provincial competition, which took place in Dublin last year, costs the league money.
In all, the cost of taking part was €9,914.14 and although there was an FAI grant of €6,000, it still left a shortfall of €3,914.14.
“It’s not sufficient,” Coyle said in his annual report. “We got €6,000 from the FAI and a sponsorship of €500 from the Brewery Bar in Letterkenny but there’s still a shortfall. Maybe the powers that be could look for further funding for the Inter-pros it would be very welcome.”
