A bigger-than-expected crowd of almost 10,000 turned up to see Donegal get past Longford in this evening’s qualifier in Ballybofey.
A crowd of 9,915 – including North American middleweight champion Jason Quigley – attended as Donegal sealed a place in Monday morning’s draw thanks to a 0-12 to 0-7 win.
County Board officials had been anticipating an attendance of around 7,000.
Despite being below-par for long periods, Donegal had five points to spare in the end up.
