The ding-dong battle for the 2017 Joule Donegal International Rally has swung in Manus Kelly’s favour after disaster struck his great rival Donagh Kelly on the second last stage.
Donagh and co-driver Conor Foley rolled their car on Atlantic Drive but thankfully are okay.
Donagh is now a long distance behind Manus with the Glenswilly man just needing to get around the final stage, The Glen Stage, to make it two Donegal International Rallies in a row.
Only seven drivers have ever done this in the history of the race.
Donagh was understandably sickened by the latest twist in the race as he pushed it all the way to catch Manus.
However, Manus said he was gutted for his good friend.
