Finn Harps FC is looking forward to a huge match against League of Ireland Premier Division match Shamrock Rovers tonight in Ballybofey (kick-off 8.00).
The Dublin outfit remains a massive name in Irish soccer so their appearance at Finn Park is a really attractive fixture for football fans across the county.
It’s fifth against eight in the table, but an under strength Harps will be really be up against it as the visitors will be aiming for a win to keep Stephen Bradley’s side in contention for European football next season.
Harps will be missing the suspended Ethan Boyle, Damian McNulty, Caolan McAleer and Danny Morrissey but the Hoops also have four banned including Graham Burke, David Webster, David McAllister and Trevor Clarke. For Horgan it means at least three personnel changes for tonight’s clash from that which started in the scoreless draw against Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds a fortnight ago.
That will really test the depth of a small squad. “We would have our work cut out to get a result even with everyone available tonight. But, that’s the challenge in this Premier Division is to be able to adapt when players are out through suspensions or injuries. Again it’s an opportunity for other lads to start who haven’t been getting as much game time and also for a few of the young players to come into the match day squad” Horgan said.
