The popular Warehouse Bar + Kitchen on Main Street, Letterkenny is holding a 48 hour charity event for the newly opened Pieta House starting on June 30 from 7pm until July 2. The entire event will be streamed live on Facebook.
The event will see staff and celebrities such as Fair City actors Maclean Burke ‘Damien Halpin’ and Gerard Byrne ‘Malachy Costello’ and Irish boxer Jason Quigley running on a treadmill over 48-hours in various time slots.
Also participating will be Donegal Rose Amy Callaghan, Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty and Fianna Fáil’s Charlie McConnalogue, Social Blogger Gabrielle’s Diary, Finn Harps Football players and past and present Donegal County GAA players.
Pieta House is a non-profit organisation providing a specialised treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideation or who participate in self-harming.
The centre is free of charge and a doctor’s referral or a psychiatric report is not required. As 90% of the centre’s income is raised through fundraising events, Pieta House relies on support and encouragement of volunteers.
Warehouse Bar + Kitchen are calling on the local community to get involved and donate.
“Pieta House are offering an invaluable service to the people of Donegal and the North West. They are saving lives on a daily basis and we want to help raise awareness for their work as well as funding. You never know when you or a loved one may need their help and support,” explains Warehouse Bar + Kitchen Manager Damien O’ Donnell.
“The event will be a lot of fun, we will have many well-known faces and live music and entertainment, it’s an event for the entire community to enjoy an support and we’d ask everyone to come out and get involved.”
