Karen Murphy to host Speech and Drama summer camps at Shandon Hotel

Karen Murphy Speech & Drama are launching two summer camps running from 7th – 11th August, and 14th to 18th August 2017.

A fun filled week of drama activities including games, drama, improvisation, mime, puppetry, shadow puppetry, arts and crafts & mindfulness.

Children will be encouraged to use their imaginations, their voices, and their bodies in many of the Speech & Drama Activities designed.

Activities are designed to build confidence and develop communication skills whilst having lots and lots of fun.

Classes will take place from August 7-11th 2017, and possibly 14-18th August 2017. The classes will run from 10am-2pm daily, and it is only €80.00 per week per child.

Discount available to hotel residents for the week. To go per the day, it is €20 per child subject to availability or €30 for two children of the same family. It’s a WIN-WIN situation, check the kids into our summer camp while you (the adults) enjoy a little slice of the Shandon Spa!

Karen has been teaching Speech and Drama for the past eleven years, running her own school and also teaching students privately on an individual and small group basis. Karen also works on a freelance basis delivering Drama workshops through the community, Donegal, Northern Ireland and Dublin.

Her work includes facilitating workshops with Youth Theatre Groups, Transition Year Students, Post Primary Students, Third Level Students, Women’s Groups, (In service days for Early Years Educators and is a member of The Institute of Drama and communication Teachers (IDAC).

Qualifications
Diploma of Licentiate, Irish Board of Speech & Drama LIBSD
Diploma of Associate, Irish Board of Speech & Drama AIBSD
JEB Teacher’s Diploma in Education Practice – ICT Skills
Diploma in Training & Education NUI Galway
