A Donegal refuse collection company says that it hopes to restore its service ‘as a matter of the utmost urgency’.
Customers of Ferry’s Refuse left bins out for collection last week, but they have not yet been collected.
Ferry’s say that the situation is ‘due to circumstances currently beyond our control’.
In a statement posted on the company’s Facebook page, Ferry’s note that their disposal facilities, located at Rossbracken, eight kilometres from Letterkenny, just off the main Letterkenny-Derry road, are ‘currently unavailable’.
Ferry’s say that there will be no bin collections today and have asked customers to ‘bear with us for the next few days’.
The company has not given any indication as to when they will be collecting household waste from customers again.
“Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to restore service as a matter of the utmost urgency,” the statement added.
