Houses ransacked in spate of burglaries across Donegal

Gardai across Donegal are investigating a spate of burglaries yesterday evening.

Three males fitting the same description were spotted making a getaway from properties in Donegal town, Ballybofey and Raphoe.

A substantial amount of money and items of jewellery have been reported stolen from homes.

In one instance in east Donegal, a woman happened upon what has been described to Donegal Daily as ‘a man getting a footie over the wall’, as she watered plants in her garden, but the group quickly dispersed.

One of the males is said to be tall and thin, with dark hair and wearing glasses. The other two are described as smaller, with tightly-cut hair, one of whom is ginger and all three males were wearing dark clothing.

The gang appear to have made their way from Donegal Town, where burglaries were reported earlier in the evening, through Barnesmore Gap before targeting homes in the east of the county.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Garda hotline on 1800-666-111.
