To celebrate the National Day of Street Feasts on Sunday, 11th June, Letterkenny’s Cathedral Quarter will join thousands of other people around the country to host a special ‘Cathedral Quarter Street Feast’.
Running from 1.00 – 3.00pm on the Church Lane, the street feast is open to people of all ages and will celebrate community with music, food and dance. The historic area in Letterkenny will be transformed with decorations, dining tables and a host of street food for the unique event.
Throughout the afternoon, there will be children’s entertainment and games, food and live music with DJ Aengus Friel. Local cafes and restaurants in the town are supporting the event through sponsorship and Cathedral Quarter member, Amanda Clarke is asking people to take time out to enjoy the event on Sunday 11th June:
“Last year, more than 20,000 people took part in various Street Feast’s around Ireland and we’re looking forward to another great event in Letterkenny in 2017. It’s a great excuse to eat good food, meet new people and have lots of fun. It’s all about community and bringing people together, so if you love to cook, play music or make decorations, we’d love if you could get involved and bring something along for the Cathedral Quarter Street Feast this Sunday.
“While most of us are lucky to be part of a strong community, there are many of us who feel increasingly isolated so hopefully this will strengthen the community here in Letterkenny too.”
