St Patrick’s Mental Health Services is delighted to introduce Mission Possible, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging the work schools around the country do to promote positive wellbeing and self-esteem.
The inaugural Mission Possible Awards Ceremony held in St. Patrick’s University Hospital, saw S.N. Éadan Fhionnfhraoich, Glenties, picking up a national award for their work entitled “Life – the Drama of It All”.
Schools from all over Ireland were recognised for their effort and contribution in tackling the stigma surrounding mental health both in the classroom and in the wider community.

All-Ireland Drama Champions in section 2 includes Senator Aodhán Ó Ríordáin & Oliver McGinley in Croke Park receiving the All-Ireland title in the Cuman Scoil Dramaíochta for the drama “An Eangach Thorthach”
St. Patrick’s CEO, Paul Gilligan, said; “St. Patrick’s has been supporting schools to promote positive mental health for a number of years through our mental health education and awareness campaign, Walk in My Shoes. We were delighted to be able to formally acknowledge and award schools who go above and beyond in their efforts.”
The Mission Possible competition was open to all schools. The array of information presented and the initiatives being undertaken by schools are extremely impressive; ranging from the use of drama and music to mindfulness.
Most inspiring was the way that staff of S.N. Éadan Fhionnfhraoich developed a holistic approach in promoting positive wellbeing and self-esteem in their students through the medium of drama.
Tamara Nolan, Communications Manager at St Patrick’s, said “We were taken aback by the amount of entries we received from all over the country. Unfortunately we could only pick three national winners.”
The school is hosting a fun packed literacy day for the surrounding schools on Wednesday the 14th of June at 11.00am in the Market Hall in Glenties which is entitled “A Wave of Words & A Splash of Science”.
The school will also showcase their All-Ireland Winning drama on the same evening at 6pm for the wider community of Glenties. Beidh fáilte romhat ar an oiche.
Well done to Principal, Oilibhéair MacFhionnghaile, and staff and pupils of S.N.Éadan Fhionn Fhraoich on their recent success.
