Participants of Relay for Life Donegal have tonight lit luminaries around the track in honour of, and in memory of, loved ones who have fought cancer.
Each Candle of Hope is dedicated to a participants loved one, with a unique personal message being illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight.
Remaining lit throughout the night, these candles now light the way for participants as they continue their walk into the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 24 hour event will run throughout the night until Sunday afternoon at Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
During the event, people are encouraged to visit the Lone Table to have a moment to remember their loved ones who inspired them to take part in Relay for Life.
People can write down the name of the people they are thinking of during the relay. These names will then form part of an Ecumenical Service on Sunday morning.
