A Status Yellow weather warning is in place for Donegal this evening as heavy and thundery rain is expected to break our glorious streak of sunny days.
Met Eireann have issued the warning from today (Friday) until Saturday evening which may see heavy thundery rain and lead to accumulations of 20-30mm with higher amounts likely in mountainous areas.
The bright and balmy conditions of the past few days will be washed out to bring showers and considerably lower temperatures tomorrow of average 14 degrees. Heavy rain at times with some thundery downpours are expected on Saturday, but there will be a clearance later in the day.
Thundery rain will clear from Ulster counties to give a generally dry Saturday night with clear spells.
Sunday is forecast to be a dry day with sunny spells, and a fresher air of light breezes and temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees.
