Leo Varadkar TD made the trip to the North West this week to meet with Fine Gael members across Donegal.
Varadkar, who is tipped to be the next Fine Gael leader, is the current Minister for Social Protection.
Donegal’s Joe McHugh TD, Minister of State for the Diaspora and International Development, joined Varadkar on his tour across the county.
Varadkar met with the Donegal branch of the Department of Social Protection, ICARE (Inishowen Children’s Autism Related Education) which provides support, training and information to families living in the Inishowen area, and members of Donegal County Council.
A meeting for Fine Gael members took place at Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair last night, with speakers including Cllr Terence Slowey, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council and John Curran of Udaras Na Gaeltachta.
They key topic for discussion at the meeting was the government’s strategy on Brexit.
