The Donegal Garda soccer team are in Santa Ponsa this weekend for the International Policing Association European 5-A-Side Tournament.
The Donegal cops won the Irish International Police Association Event in Longford last November, defeating their counterparts from Dundalk in the final.
The nine-man Donegal squad is managed by former Finn Harps goalkeeper Bosco Gallagher and IPA representative Willie Maye.
The Donegal Gardai who have travelled extended a word of thanks to their respective District Officers and colleagues for enabling them to travel to the tournament.
And they have thanked their sponsors, Mairtin Kelly of the American Roadside Diner at Mountain Top, Letterkenny, who has provided them with sportswear and who has been a supporter of the team from the outset.
The team consists of players from Donegal, Sligo, Roscommon, Galway and Mayo, who are stationed in Plenties, Bunbeg and Milford.
The Donegal Garda squad is: Mark O’Sullvan, Jonathan Sweeney, Eamonn McGinley, Brian Coyne, Noel Gavaghan, Austin Marron, Liam O’Riordan, Declan McCann and Paddy Kelly.
