The community of Carndonagh has been left shaken and angered by another burglary this week.
Carolina’s Hair and Make-Up salon on Chapel Street was the latest victim of crime after it was broken into and damaged in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The business was forced to close as Gardai carried out investigations. This latest attack follows a series of break-ins at local businesses.
In recent weeks the newly-opened McCurdys restaurant and takeaway was targeted by criminals, while Bargain Baskets in the Carndonagh Business Park was hit in early April.
Cllr Albert Doherty hit out at the criminals who have plagued the town after this week’s attack at Carolina’s:
“A young business woman in our town has lost out on her earnings and her days work. Likewise also her staff.
“Locals and those people with appointments have been inconvenienced again.”
“Gardai including Garda forensics team have again visited the premises and our town again.
“Today I visited Carolina Canning and shared with her my disappointment and disgust at this latest “break in” She is a young industrious, ambitious and valued business person in the town.”
Cllr Doherty said that local businesses and the Garda Siochana personnel need the support of the community to combat crime. “We in the community need their support.”
