Volunteers took to the streets of Letterkenny on Friday May 5th for the Special Olympics Annual Collection Day.
The amazing team of volunteers managed to raise a fantastic €2010 for the Special Olympics on the day.
Donegal Co-ordinators Alecia and Chris Frize would like to thank everyone that volunteered and to everyone who donated on the day.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the support and generosity that we have received in the past week and we would not of been able to achieve this success without you, the public. So thank you very much!” said Alecia.
Special thanks were extended to Elaine Gallagher and the transition year students of the Loreto Convent Letterkenny who gave up their time to help out.
Local businesses who had collection boxes and gave permission to collect in their premises were also thanked such as both local Aldi stores and Simpson’s supermarket Letterkenny.
“A massive thank you to all the volunteers who kindly donated their time, to assist with the collection on Friday and thanks to all who contributed on the day,” said John McKernan, regional chairperson of Special Olympics Ireland Ulster Branch.
