Last weekend the hurlers of Letterkenny Gaels virtually cycled and pucked their way to Croke Park in a unique fundraiser where, with the use of static bicycles and laps of Páirc na nGael they achieved the 236k journey.
In the Courtyard Shopping Centre on Saturday the Gaels completed the journey in four hours and forty minutes while in glorious sunshine on Sunday they completed it in two hours and thirty minutes, faster than any of the local bus operators!!!!
The hurlers of Gaeil Leitir Ceannain would like to thank everyone who took part, helped out or sponsored this fundraiser. More pictures and list of sponsors can be viewed on Letterkenny Gaels Facebook page.

Letterkenny Gaels U-12 footballers hosted Goath Dobhair on Wednesday evening last at Páirc na nGael. First up were the 2006 development team, playing in ideal playing conditions, both teams played free flowing football which resulted in plenty of fine scores. Andrew Nicols marshalled the defence well for the home side, with Senan Nolan and John Antonio Gallagher full of running. Mark Patterson and Robert O’Driscoll linked up superbly with forward line and cause all sorts of problems for the away team’s defence. Gaoth Domhair won out in the end in a highly entertaining game of football.
In the 2005 game, it took the boys a while to find their feet and Gaoth Dobhair opened up and early lead. When they did get going, it was an encouraging performance from a team who are showing continuous improvement as the weeks go by. The football improved greatly as the game went on, with passes starting to stick and forwards finding their range. All round this was a great team performance.
