On Wednesday the Rosses Community School in Dungloe will be the proud host of the Women’s Rugby World Cup Trophy between 9:30am and 11am.
The trophy has already reached 100 stops in schools and communities around the country on its tour, clocking up over 8,500 kilometres before reaching Donegal.
A presentation will take place with the students, local rugby players and various speakers.
Members of local rugby clubs will also be in attendance at the presentation to view the trophy.
The atmosphere is electric in the school this week as teachers and students alike await the arrival of the trophy, and all at RCS are very honoured to be hosting the prestigious trophy.
English teacher and rugby coach in the school Enda Walsh says “it’s a great honour for the school to be selected and we are all very excited and privileged to have the chance to view the women’s rugby world cup trophy and all that it represents. The school wishes the entire team all the best in their upcoming matches.”
The trophy will also be hosted at other venues across Donegal including Magh Ene College in Bundoran, Ballyshannon RFC, Letterkenny RFC, and Inishowen RFC.
As the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be hosted in Ireland between the August 9th to August 26th, Ireland have automatically qualified.
