Donegal endurance athlete Jason Black has qualified for the elite Race Across America after successfully completing the Race Across Italy.
After last year’s disappointment of not being able to finish the gruelling trek, the Letterkenny man made no mistake this time.
Backed by wife Sharon, his sister and friend Boyd Robinson, Black finished the event in 33 hours after setting himself a target time of 37 hours.
He barely left the saddle over the 33 hour trek apart from a 15 minute break period to stake his claim for the gruelling event in the US.
Just minutes before the started the race, Black told Donegal Daily that he felt good and was determined to make it count this time.
He certainly did that.
