Girls:
U8 –
The under 8 girls played CLG Carndonagh in the Scarvey on Saturday morning, 22nd April. We fielded 2 teams and the girls again rose to the challenge with every player playing an important part. New players always welcome to join the fun!
U10 –
Our U10 girls were in Carn on Friday evening, 21st April.
Our two teams played two games each against Carn’s two teams.
The girls battled hard & put in some fantastic performances, while the scores weren’t kept the girls did brilliant!
Team 1: Aisling Mahon, Sarah Louise & Hannah McLaughlin did excellent in the back line, Aine Jordan ran her socks of in midfield & set up some lovely scores for Lauren Bradley, Ella Porter, Erin Doherty & Kate Sarsfield!
Team 2: This team was a slightly younger team, but just as strong – they didn’t let their age stop them! … Adele McDaid defended strongly while Abaigh McCarron played some great balls inside to the twins, Eimear & Aoife Doherty whose speed & good link up play resulted in plenty of scores!
Well done to all the girls involved & Claire Doherty would like to thank to the mini managers for their help.
U14 –
Our U14 girls had two matches this week;
On Wednesday 19th April, they travelled to Naomh Padraig, Muff were they beat the local opposition comprehensively.
On Saturday 22nd April, they travelled to Fanad to play their young Gaels.
The first half was very competitive & while Buncrana made more chances Fanad were able to make more of the opportunities they had & led by 5pts at half time.
The second half started similar to how the first half ended & Fanad scored 1-1 to take their lead to 9pts leaving Buncrana with an uphill battle.
The girls responded brilliantly. They dug deep & worked hard for each other & put the pressure on for the last 20mins winning by 7-5 to 5-5.
Allannah Curran, Aoife Doherty & Clara Porter were particularly excellent in defence with our scores coming from Katelyn Doherty, Cliona Doherty & Hollie Fergusson.
Thanks very much to Fanad for the refreshments, they were much appreciated!
Senior –
Our Ladies travelled to Carrick Field on Sunday morning, 23rd April, to face Moville but they were beaten by the current senior county champions.

And thanks to Carndonagh for hosting the second round of the Inishowen Go Games.
U12 –
Our U12′ took part in the Stephen Quinn memorial tournament in Swatragh last Saturday, 15th April.
The standard was high as expected but the boys did themselves proud with some improving skills being showed.
In hard fought games against Glenuill, Slaughneil and Ballynascreen, they found themselves into the semi finals where a strong host team, Swatragh, were slightly fresher.
An excellent day’s development was had against some very strong Derry outfits.
Many thanks to Swatragh on their invitation and hospitality!
On Saturday, 22nd April, our U12s then got the privilege of playing on the hallowed turf of Croke Park with a larger Ulster contingent as part of the Littlewoods Provincial Go Games Days.
The lads, parents, coaches and managers were treated to a tour of the grounds and changing rooms before taking to the pitch to play their games.
It was an amazing experience for everyone involved!

The Buncrana goals came from Aedan Stokes and Ciaran Hegarty.

The second was away to Ballyshannon on Thursday evening, 20th April, we then again came away with a win after some hard battling.
Audh Ruadh 4-12 Buncrana 6-15
Keeping their unbeaten record alive!
Senior –
Our Seniors got their league program off to an impressive start with a good display against seasoned campaigners Setanta on Friday night, 21st April.
Both sides were missing All County Senior panellists, which gave squad players a chance to stake a claim for a starting spot in future matches.
The boys started well with both sides tagging on early points. But an early Macauley Carr goal gave the young Scarvey lads a bit of belief. This was added to by 2 points from frees from Tom Clare Jr, further points from play by Ben Roe, Oisin Grant and Dylan Duffy; seasoned player David Guilfoyle aided the scoreboard with 2 points and Ben Roe also rattled the back of the net to leave the half time score; Buncrana 2-6 Setanta 3-5
An early second half injury to the impressive young 17-year-old PJ Mc Carron seemed to take the wind out of the lad’s sails, but they slowly got going again with 2 more pointed frees from Tom Clare Jr and points from Davy and Dylan kept the scoreboard ticking along. If the boys could have taken a few of their other goal chances a win could have been recorded.
All in all, the management team will have been delighted would have been delighted with the performances of the younger players; 6 of which are 18 or younger.
Fiachra Mac Lochlainn was a rock at full back and was greatly aided by the O’Rourke brothers; Conor and Enda. Paul Tourish was superb and centre half back. Daniel Wilson gave his usual gutsy display. While Oisin Grant had a senior debut to remember.
In the forwards; Ben Roe should be happy with his 1-1 on his senior debut also.
In general, a lot of our shots dropped short into the keeper’s hands, something that will need to be remedied before championship.
Unfortunately, the 3 softly conceded goals were the deciding factor in the match.
Full time; Buncrana 2-11 Setanta 3-10
