Sophie Duffy of the Smith McCarron school of Irish dance took second place at the World Championships held in Dublin last week.

Sophie competed in the under 13s category, with over 200 qualifiers from across the globe.

Only the top three competitors in each category got a coveted globe.

Sophie also placed second in Montreal two years ago, and is delighted to be back on the podium.

Sophie is taught by former Lord of the Dance leads, Tracy Smith McCarron and Don McCarron.

Congratulations to Sophie and her teachers on this phenomenal success.
