Garda investigation launched after man viciously attacked in Ballybofey

A man had to be treated in hospital after he was viciously assaulted in Ballybofey.

It was one of two assaults which took place in the Twin Towns in recent days.

The man, who is in his 20s, was attacked in the Cappry area, on Good Friday at around 9pm.

He was treated at Letterkenny University Hospital for his injuries but later released.

Gardaí are also investigating an assault on another man at Glenfin Street in the early hours of Easter Monday around 1am.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to both attacks.
